Director – Maria Wyatt FCCA FMAAT

A qualified Chartered Certified Accountant, who has worked in finance since the 1980s, I prefer to consider myself as a ‘Business Woman with a Financial Flair’.

People say that I am the most ‘Non-Accountant’ Accountant that they have ever known – I take that as a compliment!

My first working role was with KPMG working in their Business Services department. Subsequent roles included working for:

• a rapidly expanding Travel Company as Accounts Assistant/Assistant Accountant;
• a well known Motoring organization as a Business Accountant;
• an Advertising Agency as Financial Controller and only female Member of the Board;
• a Recruitment Agency as Finance Director and finally Managing Director after being involved in an MBO.

I chose to sell my shares in the recruitment business and go into practice in the later part of 2006, after delaying this transition on a few previous occasions when other opportunities came my way

I now work with Business owners and individuals, using my knowledge and experience to help and support them with the challenges that running your own business brings. At GSI, we offer Accountancy, Bookkeeping & Payroll Services but I am used as much for my ‘non-finance’ skills as much as my finance ones.

 

Accountant – Stacy Nash FCCA

A qualified Chartered Certified Accountant who has been working in finance since 2004.

I have worked in industry throughout my career, including:

• Various accountancy roles within a well-known UK employee-owned Retail business
• Management reporting for the Belgium and Netherlands entities for a global software scanning solution plc
• Various accountancy roles for a Premiership Football club including Payroll and Management reporting

Throughout my various roles I have always got enjoyment from helping non-finance colleagues and stakeholders gain a better understanding of ‘the numbers’. I love the sense of achievement when someone comes away from talking to me with a much clearer insight of accounting relevant to their needs. I can’t think of a better way to continue this passion by helping business owners and individuals understand their own business accounts and provide them with tools to help them grow their business.

 

Bookkeeper – Katie Jones BSc

I have a degree in Psychology and Criminology. I worked for the Youth Offending Team for 12 years supporting 8-16 year old’s and their families.

Over the years I undertook occasional Bookkeeping and found a real enjoyment in this field which inspired a career change. Since 2020 I have been fully trained in QuickBooks and working as a Bookkeeper for GSI accounts.

I enjoy working with our clients, helping them to remain organised with their paperwork and tiding up an area of their business that financially is essential, but quite often clients don’t have the time or enthusiasm for. I enjoy taking that pressure off the clients to allow them to get on with what they do best.
